Teknoloji geliştikçe robot tasarımcılarının hayali olan insan özelliklerini taşıyan robotlar üretme fikrine gitdikçe yaklaşıyoruz, yolun başında olsakta bu gibi videolar bizi gelecekte nasıl bir teknolojinin beklediğini gösteriyor. Bu videodaki robot en ayırtedici insan özelliklerinden olan öğrenme yeteneğine sahip. Uygulaması gereken hareket bir defa gösterildikten sonra robot bu hareketi öğrenmek için denemeler yapıyor. Elli denemenin ardından gösterilen hareketi kusursuz biçimde tekrarlıyor. Bu teknoloji ilerde kolu olmayan insanların omuzlarına yerleştirilip devamlı öğrenmek için programlanabilir. İlerde organlarımız için elektronik marketlerden satın alacağımız hazır hafıza kartlarını görür gibiyim.

The designer says “Second auto tracking test…..still occasionally shooting blanks. I’m only using the left gun for testing purposes. I need to fix the ammo hoppers which are not properly loading all the rounds and you can see the ammo hopper fall off at the end of the video. Tracking and shooting seem to be working well. “

The eight-degree-of-freedom robowall, powered by electric motors, has multiple touch-screen displays and mobile desk units. Users can select six different configurations and fine-tune them by gesturing at proximity sensors.

Their original idea for the contraption’s design came from studying the movement of an elephant’s trunk, though for their current prototype they went to a “hyper redundant” system more like the links in a watch’s wristband. “Out of cowardice,” Green said when asked, because they wanted to be sure it worked. But they’re currently working on “continuum robotics,” more like that trunk.

PETMAN | Boston dynamics’ s new robot.

PETMAN is an anthropomorphic robot for testing chemical protection clothing used by the US Army. Unlike previous suit testers, which had to be supported mechanically and had a limited repertoire of motion, PETMAN will balance itself and move freely; walking, crawling and doing a variety of suit-stressing calisthenics during exposure to chemical warfare agents. PETMAN will also simulate human physiology within the protective suit by controlling temperature, humidity and sweating when necessary, all to provide realistic test conditions.

Natural, agile movement is essential for PETMAN to simulate how a soldier stresses protective clothing under realistic conditions. The robot will have the shape and size of a standard human, making it the first anthropomorphic robot that moves dynamically like a real person.

The development program has a 13 month design phase followed by a 17 month build, installation and validation phase, with delivery of the robot taking place in 2011. Boston Dynamics’ partners for the program are Midwest Research Institute (MRI), Measurement Technology Northwest, Smith Carter CUH2A (SCC) and HHI Corporation who will construct the chamber.
